When To Stop Smoking – Know When Now

Certainly, it is understandable to know how difficult it is to break the habit of smoking when all your friends are lighting up. Nevertheless, think of it this way. You are too smart to let smoking ruin your health or be chained to a bad habit. It takes a lot of will power and be determined in your mind to challenge the habit. You have to do it for yourselves and not anyone else. The best thing you could do is to decide and quit.

Smoking and quitting are a choice. You will never know when it is the right time to stop smoking, seriously. You either stop smoking now or continue smoking.

When you think it is hard, it will be hard. If you think it is possible, you can stop smoking. Most smokers continue to smoke instead of quitting because they do not know how to quit smoking. Your first step is to learn how to stop smoking in a correct way. Then, you can start your next step, which is to really stop smoking.

After taking your choice to stop smoking, you can feel far more superior to your friends because you are going to live longer and be healthier. Besides, the money you’re spending now on cigarettes — they aren’t cheap and can be better spent on things you really enjoy, such as new clothes, hair dos, tickets to plays and sporting events, or even save up for a big purchase, like a vacation in the Bahamas or a nice new car. Give yourself small rewards for resisting temptation. When your friends see how much will power you have, they too, might consider quitting. Good luck!

Society made smoking seem so harmless but it is harder to quit than any other drug out there. I feel where you come from, it is very easy for non-smokers to say, “Just quit” but they cannot understand that it is a huge struggle even for the most strong-minded person. The goal is to remove the nicotine from your system completely but the Pharmacy industry only creates more stuff with that same ingredient that might keep you from inhaling the smoke but the nicotine is still there and so is the root of the problem. A lot of it is mental, such as the gesture of smoking, being bored or stressed (have you noticed that you smoke a lot more when you are sitting around other smokers as well?), and then again lots of it is physical as well.

Most people feel the need to smoke after they eat, because their digestion system is just so used to it, otherwise, they feel sick. I am sure plenty of you have noticed how much weight you put on once you quit, which is also another reason for smoking to many people. This is an addiction like any other, only that there is rehabilitation centre for them and no excuse to lay off work or interfere with your daily life on this one. The only way out is to intervene, but you need plenty of support from the people around you and you have to find other things to occupy yourself with and want to quit mentally.

It is impossible to quit when your husband/wife does it around you, just the smell is so tempting and eventually it will be your downfall. I know it might sound funny, but put a big reward at the end of that tunnel (car, clothes, a trip etc) and picture a healthier, better YOU. I do not know what will work for you but try to figure out what will work for you. You know it’s time to quit when your body shows the first signs (coughing, mucus, blood pressure, bad breathe etc)
